Hey Folks,
I'm thinking about buying a tablet. I have been doing some research but still not entirely sure what I want. Can anyone give me any feedback on any of the following?
Although I own a iPhone 4S, I think the iPad is very overpriced for what they are. Is the much interaction between an iPad and an iPhone? Are they worth paying the Apple tax?
Others I have looked at are the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (1st generation) and the Asus EEE Pad Transformer. The Asus looks like a strong performer and I quite like hardware accessories and the fact that this has HDMI outputs and memory expansion slots built in.
I mainly want it for watching stuff, bit of web browsing, some word processing occasionally, playing games when im bored and to act as an ebook reader too.
Any others that you may think are worth a look then please state below

What I like is taking photos on my iPhone then they automatically appear on the photostream to view on my iPad. The screens amazing... Don't have any experience of the others.

Cheers Dom, I did look at this but ideally I would like a larger screen than what the Kindle offers. It seems very basic compared to others on the market.

Cheers Birthday Boy The 3rd generation is a bit out of my price range unfortunately. I've just been looking on eBay and there seems to be about £100 difference between the iPad 2 and 3.
I can see my budget going out the window here

I was thinking around £250, probably push to £300 if I wanted to. There are a few Samsung tablets floating around with a few decent accessories for £250. I might just goto the shops and see what they can offer

Nothing really better than the iPad just now.
For the extra £100 you are getting at least that worth of screen.

I think the general consensus is that the iPad is the best tablet out there at the moment. Still.

Bargain, refurbs have new outer casings, batteries and cables so pretty much brand new.

Also, apps are installed on both iPad and phone, your calendars and contacts are synced

You can also get refurbs from eBay. Currys and Argos both have shops on there selling them, along with other companies.

The only critisism I have of the iPad 3 is that it never seems to have any battery when I come to use it whereas my iPad 2 always seemed to have plenty. Maybe it's just me.

That retina display takes a fair bit of power to run!

Well, it certainly looks like the iPad is the favoured of the bunch. Looking around eBay at my other choices, a lot of people seem to be selling them because they have upgraded to an iPad. If im going to do it I might as well do it properly and go for the latest model. When is the iPad 4 due for release? Are there any large technological advancements lined up for the 4th generation?
Although I love my iPhone 4S, I cant help but feel Apple's marketing of Siri was a bit of a shitter. I mean its pretty much useless in the UK apart from asking it silly questions and asking it what the weather is like so I'm a bit wary of these features that apple market their products on (like 4g on the 3rd gen iPad)

'The New iPad' (aka 4th gen iPad) was released a few months back so it's a good time to get one if you're bothered about having the latest model.
The 4S is a good phone if you were upgrading your 3GS or buying your first iPhone - it's nothing to write home about or spending serious money upgrading from an iPhone 4. Siri has it's place somewhere, like on an Apple TV.

Ah right, I thought the most recent release was the 3rd Generation. I haven't seen anything about 4th generation mentioned anywhere
The 4S was the first iPhone that I have had. I was given an iPhone 3G about 12 months ago by a family member which had been lost, claimed for on insurance and then found down the back of the sofa It had been blocked though so wasn't much use!
The Mrs has and iPhone 4 and that operates like a slug compared to my 4S. I was quite surprised how much of a difference there was.
