have started to notice a knocking sound when setting off at slow speed!also if i wiggle the steering back and forth u can hear it then aswell i think it might be the steering rack but im not sure. has anybody else had these probs? 
im getting mighty pissed off with this car

yup i got that problem aswell.
been to vauxhall...told they know about it and its a common fault with c's the now and they're not gonna do anythin with it jsut now cos they dont know wat to do to fix it.

well iv heard that a few people have had new steering racks put in! is it the steering coz at times it sounds like its coming from the rear but i couldnt be sure n i dont think its the suspension!

I have this problem as well, with my SRi.
Do u feel as it the passenger door / bood aint closed properly?

On mine ever since i've got it, when i turn a sharp angled corner at a nippy pace in a carpark for instance i get a horrible clonk noise like something is loose, and don't say the wheels might be loose cos they aint i've checked.

I ain't had that steering prob yet with my SXi. But the fcuking squeaking coming from the brakes even when your not pressing the brake pedal is reallt pissing me off now!!!!

yep, i got the same prob. its is real fucking anoying. I had a new lower coloum. that didnt fix it. they say they cant here it now. i'm gonna go to another vauxhall dealer to see what they say.

si_reading the squeeking noise from the brakes is a safety device on the brakes to let you know the pads are nearly worn out, mine have done this on my past sxi, the reason they do it is there is a little clip on the pads which will rub on the disk when the pad wears down.

ive had this problem to mate, took my car in and had a new steering rack, and it has now come back yet again!!! so looks like ill be taking it back yet again!!

si_reading check that your pads/shoes are clean,sometimes brake dust build up causes the brakes to squeal,if not it could be the wear markers on the pads like red said.

i aint had the problem with me steering yet! (touch wood) but my bloody doors leak? any1 else had this problem! me hand brake was really shite and wouldnt hold the car on a hill! i have a squeeky brake pedal and now i have to have me back bumper resprayed coz the paint is starting to blister off!!!!!
im gettin pissed off!

Yeah, me! Drivers side, towards the centre of the top, the seal is crap, when it rains I get drips coming through every now and then, it's left a water mark on the corner of the seat too now 
Going into Vauxhall next weekend for a moan, car's only 6 months old...

I got the knocking sound after I got my car lowered on just springs. Got rid of the springs and got a full Koni kit. Problem solved.
Drivers door leaked. Used to drip all the time from the exact same places. Not done it for a while.
Wipers are crap. Had them replaced and they are still crap. And judder across the screen.

i had exacley the same problem on a 2001 corsa c at about 25000 miles. same knocking noise at low speed. needed a new steering rack but was under warranty luckily and no probs since

how ghey's that! I've no had anything like that since I got it, but this week its done what u said twice.
When taking a sharp corner, and then as it straightens up a loud donk comes from the rear right somewhere

It's going in on tuesday for
- leaking driver's door
- squeeking clutch
- drivers electric window not going up, it gets half way and then decides to come back down
- and clunking gears/hard to get in gear
Having courtesy car though, so im not really that bothered
