After taking tablets (Carbimazole) every day for the last 2 1/2 years, today i've finally been able to stop taking them.
The consultant told me to go for a year off the tablets and see if my Thyroid has stabilized itself, no more monthly blood tests but I have to have one in 2 months, 5 months and 9 months.
It might seem a small thing but i'm dead chuffed to be off them at last! (hopefully for good).

I have Hypothyroidism, which is basically the opposite of what you have but more permanent. Had it since birth, hasn't affected me in any way.

Mines overactive, the carbimizole has been bringing my levels down steadily and now levels have been normal for about 18 months.
