Hello People!
Started up my own IT Company a couple of weeks back, gave up my company Fiesta and bought a 56 plate Corsa Van. Problem i'm having is the noise is causing me to have ear ache (have ear problems). Two reasons i bought the van, i got if for 2.2k with 40k on the clock and being a diesel it does 600 miles to £60 without even trying to get a decent mpg.
I don't want to spend a fortune on anything, around 6k maximum. Looked at the Ford Focus which seems decent but for simlar money i get a 07 plate x type (50k on clock) with enough toys to keep me happy on a good run.
Is the x type problematic, are they expensive to repair, nice to drive, is the 2.0D engine decent on fuel?

My Dad has a 2.0D, had it 3 years and has only needed to replace some sort of hose in the engine. Gets it serviced at a Jag specialist and it's no more expensive then an Astra done by Vaux. Fuel isn't bad either, he gets about 40-45mpg on combined. All in all it's been a good car.

2006 and I think he's on about 90k now, does about 60 miles a day commuting. He's put about half that mileage on there.
