Seen a few tutorials, however what would be the best way to do a scale drawing?

It's of an allotment, and is in the shape of a non symetrical triangle... so want to get it in photoshop to start a layout etc.

Thanks for any help...

Sure its not quicker starting in something like Google Sketchup?

Also when you say a non-symmetrical triangle do you mean completely obtuse?

Easiest way to draw them is to put one of the lines on, then draw a circle the radius of the second side, then draw the third side to intersect that.

Or do the SOHCAHTOA calcs and get the angles, but that isn't necessary if you know all the edge lengths.

Could be, not really used it before properly. Obviously quite adapted to photoshop, for most things apart from scale drawings. Thought sketch up was more for buildings etc?

Cba going into depths of a CAD program when its not installed on my system. It's only for me to reference anyway, doesnt have to be perfect.

You've got vector tools in PS.

Illustrator would also do and you can import and leave as a vector I'm sure.

If not, rasterise at a fairly high res.

If your just wanting a lined drawing with no dimentions on it do it not to scale with dimentions on it and ill do it for you

Hate flash as it is Gaz, seen a tutorial on PS will give it a go tonight, unless google sketch up looks easier

Sketchup is a piece of cake but if you want it as artwork to finish I don't think the export is as flexible as you need it.

Given what you've said about new software, vector tools in PS will do it.

I don't want to download coreldraw when I have photoshop and its the nearly same software.

Can I export in google sketchup? Might do it to scale and then export to photoshop.

Not knowing the exact shape I'd use Illustrator for something like that. Will also be an easier learning curve from you, coming from PS.

Got any more details on the shape in question?

No reason on the planet to switch from Photoshop to Corel Draw.
Illustrator does everything Draw does (and better imo) and actually bears some resemblance to Photoshop.

Pretty sure you wont be making that to exact scale in anything but CAD. What measurements do you have for it?

I've got the measurements now dude, going to try figure it out in Photoshop and see how I get on, if not if you could mock something up, it would be fantastic.

Send me the measurements, I'll take a look and see if there's any sanity in trying to do a drawing in Illustrator.

If CAD is indeed needed, I'll not be able to help though...
