Depends on the condition of the car. It's not essential.

I did it as most my corsa was rust. And to be fair I'd do it even on a good shell. Just my opinion

I'd do it.. Never seen the point in cutting corners. There is alot of load on that lower cross member with more power. Its only spot welding as std.

Agreed. I know a dude who had an XE installed without the chassis strengthened and sold the car soon after coz according to him 'it handled like shit' after the engine was put in.

i just put a strut brace across the engine bay and one in the back, coilover suspension and its solid as anything, good handling and quick on the country roads..

Its not essential to fit them, so not really a case of "if its worth doing its worth doing right".

I wouldn't walk away from an XE Corsa just because it didn't have them fitted.

I bet maybe 1 in 10 XE Corsa's have them fitted.

His had coilovers, don't think anything else. I'd imagine it would handle a little differently XE over GSi engine.

no point in strengthening a corsa b bay for a XE tbh. thats coming from the lads who make the strengthening kit!!
said il not need to bother with the V6 but im doing a bit on the X member anyway as its looking a bit rusty. its not really needed unless your going silly pony power

No need for the xe as said above only needed when going for loads of power if your thinking of more power in the future might aswell do it.
