Having a blonde moment - what does the e mean?

I thought it was 10^ but the formula doesn't work out?

x = 150 then y = 825

Think its used there so the exponent it works out for you is the actual true gradient of that approximation, as opposed to just giving you a regular a^b which wouldn't scale.

The formula will never work out as that line is an approximation - the polynomial curve which best fits your data. Even thought your data does not have a true exponential relationship.
