Picked the new car up yesterday to replace the Ibiza I had for four years, quick pic of the previous car :

Travelled to Edinburgh to meet and swap cars and cash, R32 had came up from Northallerton so it had a fair journey yesterday.
Got it home and a blast with the snow foam and a hand wash and she came up fine and took a few pics. Private reg came off today

Standard spec apart from H&R rear spacers and the flapper mod.

First job this morning was to fit 4 new tyres. Rears were worn down to the blocks and one of the fronts was cracked all the way round on the sidewall so fitted 4 Toyo proxes for piece of mind

Then started the cleaning tonight, gave under the bonnet a good clean using Meguiars APC and then dressed with Auto Glym plastic and rubber. Came up really good, used to work well on the ibiza too and just needs a wipe down now and again. Also fitted my R8 oil cap

Current plans are to get LED sidelights fitted tomorrow and hopefully make a start in giving it a proper clean in the next week or so. Decontaminate, clay, glaze and wax hopefully
Future plans are to maybe get the wheels refurbished and a few minor bodywork marks touched up/resprayed. Might stretch to a milltek and air filter if I see any crop up for sale but not essential atm.
Also need to look into the fan fix as this one seems to have the symptoms. When looking at the radiator fans, which one is which? Only seems to be the left one which operates at full speed

Ideally Id love a set of BBS CH's but I think it would need to be decked to look the part and Iv a speed bump to get over to leave my street and Iv seen horror stories of stones in the road causing clearance issues and burst sumps. Think I'll invest in a sump guard aswell.
Recent house purchase also puts a stop to the modifying (for just now anyway

Only good thing is there is none around here with ch's. Iv just spent over £500 on tyres so standard wheels will be staying a fair while, refurbished in anthracite likely or keep it silver and standard?

Joined up on there last week when the deal was sorted out and started doing my research. Boy admitted when I was viewing it that I knew more about the R32's than him
Started a project thread on there aswell. Going to try and keep this as up to date as I can

Went to fit sidelights today as one side was out and other side didnt even have a bulb, can see why because as with all other newer cars changing a bulb seems to be like keyhole surgery with the limited space. Bought halfords laser blue bulbs to match the standard xenons only to find out their no different from a standard bloody bulb. Pissed off after all that knuckle scraping!
They'll be staying standard until some time I can be bothered to fiddle around with them again. Some pics to show how shite they are

Laser blue my arse!

My sidelights are the push and twist type rather than just the push in ones. Will have a rake on ebay and see what I can find

Dont think mk4's have bulb warnings, 1 sidelight was missing and one bulb was fucked and had no warnings on the dash.
