Injured a man and then shot dead an off duty PC who went to help. RIP PC Dibell. Stay safe you guys who are down that way.

Fatal shooting of serving police officer

Essex Police has released a photograph of the man they searching for in connection with the fatal shooting of a serving police officer in Clacton.

Police are urging members of the public to take great care and not to approach Peter Reeve who is believed to be armed.

Armed officers are searching for the 64-year-old man who is believed to have shot dead the serving police officer and injured another man following a shooting off Redbridge Road.

Police were contacted shortly after 3:30pm on Monday, July 9, 2012 following reports of shotgun fire. They arrived and found one man dead and one man with serious leg injuries lying in the street.

Reeve is described as white, around 5ft 10in tall with short greyish hair. He was wearing jeans and possibly glasses. He comes from the Clacton area and should not be approached.

Residents are being urged to remain indoors while armed officers locate the gunman. Neighbourhood policing officers are maintaining a high-profile and visible presence in the community, supporting victims and witnesses.

Anyone who knows where Reeve is or has information about him or where he might be should contact police on 999.

Up near me (im about 5 miles away), everyone on Facebook going overboard, police "apparently" everywhere, who knows. Hopefully he will be found soon.

Loads of stabbings and attacks in clacton, 3 people got killed over the new years weekend....complete shit hole so no surprise really.

Definately being taken very seriously, loads of police around this morning. 9 bikes, 2 galaxy's, one of the big riot van's, 2 normal mondeo's and an undercover volvo went passed me into the area. Guess you don't fuck with a policeman

When you see that many all going the opposite direction it makes you wonder, it was one massive convoy. I may be out by one or 2 but was shocked at the sheer number so did kinda count. Even used my toes
