Hi all. I have an '11' reg number plate (CA11HUM) and so ive got to get an 11 reg or newer car within the next 18 months or so so im looking at corsa vxrs. Ive always loved the corsa but was interested to see if anyone knows if the astra vxr was available on an 11 reg? Im sure ive seen some but cant find any for sale? Also is the piston 4 issue enough to put me off the corsa? Cheers.

No they aren't on an 11. I look at cars for the same reason.

Piston 4 issue is what happens when you put enough people with the same car in one place.

It sounds like a lot of problems but its probably a very small percentage of cars.
Plus if you get an 11, you've still got balance of the warranty for a while. I wouldn't worry personally.

If you don't mind a bit of a project there is a corsa vxr with mechanical problems on co part for 2k at the mo, but the bidding may go up! Its also not catagorised either so once it's fine could sell for a nice profit

You don't need an 11 plate just because you have a private reg. You can retain it you know for 25

I dont mind a project ill havr a look. An 11 reg?
On all the paper work it states the longest you csn have to register it is 3 years which takes me till the end of 2013. And you can only put it on a 11 reg car or newer.

I think that means you can buy three years retention in one go.
You can keep it on retention as long as you like. People sometimes buy kids plates years in advance of 18th birthdays etc.

£25 per year, I pay mine yearly. I have an 11 also but drive a 2002 Golf, probably won't have an 11 plate for years!
