Never seen one before was a 12 plate going into Kingsway - Derby, and Dark Grey in colour. Best thing about it when it was parked up it was connected up to a charge point.

The Vauxhall Ampera.

There's a bunch of them at the bottom of my road (Vauxhall Garage) I thought they looked alright. Wondered what they were when I saw them about a month ago, seen a fair few been driven about already

There's one on my way to work, I actually really like the aesthetics of it - much better than a prius!

Taken from the vauxhall site

One pedal driving
While driving the Vauxhall Ampera with the shifter in L position, lifting the foot off the accelerator automatically activates generator braking. In situations such as downhill or city driving, the stopping power is efficient enough to provide all the braking power you need. At the same time the recaptured energy charges the battery. So it's a win/win situation for both comfort and efficiency.

Go out in a proper old automatic and it will have 1 and 2 on the shifter. Exactly the same.
Only new feature is the recharging bit. You don't gain petrol for motorbraking with a combustion engine, unfortunately.
