How hard is it to fit a X16XE from a corsa B into a a MK4 Astra anyone know?

some of them came with it in mate. mounts would need changed

All of them I think, early sports had x16xe and so did sxi's

So would just need to get the mounts from one of those then it should be just a straight swap?

It's for a mate who has 1.6 8V on a X plate and wants to buy my engine out the corsa for it.

Astra Mk4 came with the X16XEL - a lower power output version of the X16XE, but is essentially the same engine.

As for fitting it into a 1.6 8V model though, I'm not sure on the complexities of doing so. The car was originally built with it, but there may be differences between the models that make it a more complicated swap.

in a mk4 astra the ecu controlls dash temp guage etc so would have to run 2 ecu's unless the x16xe would run off the origional, but being an 8v it wont.

Sounds like its going to be too much work,il tell him to just go buy a 1.6 engine out of a astra so its more straight forward.

Or tell him to buy a mk4 astra with a 16v in it
