My mate has just bought a car and is 17. they have a provisional licence and have
fully insured the car! now iam 22 years old and have had my licence since 02/2008 can
I go out with them with the L plates on? or do i need to be on their insurance aswell?

I think you're at the legal requirement for age, but I can't quite remember the legalities of the latter....

You should be ok, you don't have to be on the insurance, just the driver.

Although if for whatever reason, its normally sensible to be able to. If that guy gets in to a situation he can't get out of or loses his mind, I'd want to be able to get home.

you cant use your mobile or be pissed or anything either, your both classed as drivers. If he gets a ticket then you get one

Thats wrong about you getting a ticket if he gets one. But you do need to be sober and not on the phone.

You're there because he doesn't have the legal right to make his own decisions. You are supposed to make him follow the rules. If you're pissed how are you supposed to keep him in check?

21 and 3 years driving experience.
You need to be as if you were a driver, sober and off the phone. You are responsible for them.
