Has anyone been through Singapore airport on their travels and had a look round the shops? Just wondering about prices of things compared to over here, sunglasses in particular. Just broke my oakleys and need to replace them. Can't see the point in buying them here though when I could potentially get them cheaper in the airport in 2 weeks. They have a sunglasshut shop in the terminal so just need to know about prices.

I've been but have no idea on prices, loads of high end designer gear though.

Sure this has been more than helpful.

I found a lot of stuff was about the same price or blatenly fake even when it was meant to be one of the official outlets,

You'll probably get 20 pairs of fakes for a tenner lol

I was talking to a Ladin the pub earlier, he's a bit of a billy bullshitter. He reckons everything is about 40% cheaper than here because you can haggle with them. Don't know what to believe. Might just get them here because the next place I'll be is Australia and they will be twice as much there.

Surely can't be dearer than over here, I'd take a chance and go for getting them there.

I spent a while there last summer waiting for a flight and nothing was any cheaper than the UK, and even if you did find something it would be marginal and not worth the effort of transporting it and not having a warranty like you would here etc.

Cigs are about £13 instead of £30 on the aircraft.

I only seem to deal with dead bodies on flights after un-sucessful resuscitations at the moment.

Just buy your sunglasses over here and you can claim the cost back against your tax.

at the end of the tax year (june) you can claim for sun glasses, sun cream, mobile phone, work clothes, etc. Then you get a nice cheque a month or two later off the tax office. You dont need recipts for stuff upto $300ish usually
