Found myself in a bit of a predicament. I currently have pet insurance for my dog through Debenhams and have done for the past 5 years or more. The renewal has come through the post recently which turns out to be a further £20 more each moth which brings it to a total of £50.76 pm. Apparently the reason behind this is because he is now 12 years old. I understand why the renweal has increased because he is obviously getting older and he is prone for more unfortuante things to happen to him. Can anyone recomend me any other pet insurances before i have no other decision than to accept this dreaded price?? I have brieffly researched for a better price but they are all either a pound or two cheaper. Ta

Try places like uswitch and other price comparison places.
Failing that, put £50 a month in a seperate account and self insure. Worst case you have to add some money to it. Best case you end up with loads of unused money.

They are also expensive when you get old.
We have just stopped paying our insurance for this exact reason. Both our cats have hit 11 and it was £10 more each (after £10 more last year when they hit 10)
We are just putting the money in the savings account

You might find you're stuck with them because of the age, another company might not want to take it on or will charge the same.

Just make sure the one you get has a decent a mount of cover, something like £5000 plus.
Something like your pet staying one night at the vets would be about £500, so it all adds up.

Why do people insure pets? If they get something really bad just have them put down and get a new one

One of mine has injections to help his allergies,
250quid for 4 months worth, covered by insurance I pay 27quid a month, quite a saving,
Though I've just started getting quotes for the new puppy and they want double that and it's the same breed, makes no sense considering my other dogs dodgy record lol
