Currently I have a 53 plate Corsa C want some think newer more modern and not have the worry of breaking and having unexpected bills each month.

Just popped into my local vauxhal dealer and was taken in with this deal. Brand new 62 plate corsa d Limited Edition white/black. £0 deposit & 5 years 0% finance at £200 a month, end of the 5 years you own it with no final payment. I'd personally put a minimum of £2000 down bringing it to about £170 a month. Only concern is the price of a new car and the amount they depreciate :-/ but on the upside no MOT for 3 years and the first 3 services and first MOT for free appeal (special deal)

This seem a good deal

That's a fair point, for got to say it comes with a lifetime 100,000 mile warranty for the 1st owner

It's the depreciation part that bug's me, I did have a Corsa SRI a year or so ago that I had for over 3 years and still liked it regret selling it tbf

For say £7k now, which with a loan works out at £170ish a month, I get a second hand mid mileage car for the same monthly payments i get a brand new car which i would plan on keeping

Reason I'm not saving up one is I'm moving into a new house in September (mortgage ect) & yes i can afford it else i wouldn't be looking into it (before any one says that )

I'd get a Swift Sport for £13,000, the deal isn't as good and you only get a 60,000 mile warranty but I think the car would be more fun and would hold it's value more. You can get a 5 year old Corsa for less than £3,000 now but the Sports are £4-5,000

Not keen on the swift, I've always liked the Limited Edition Corsa in white & black just looks smart and sporty and the inside is nice and modern, now the fact it's on this deal makes it even more appealing, just never purchased a brand new car so unsure about taking the plundge ect

If you can afford it and you know you're going to stay with it and not regret it for 5 years then I don't see a problem. Like you said, it's completely worry free.

Just seem's to good to be true which is why I think I'm worrying No mot's, no servicing, warranty if any think prematurely breaks ect just the fact it's £13k for a corsa, yet monthly and even yearly its cheap and hassle free

0% finance for the full 5 years no deposit either, so miles better then the bank which is why going 2nd hand and borrowing even half is going to cost the same amount a month when you factor in the interest

The small engine part doesn't really worry me biggest I've owned in the 6 years of driving was a Cooper S so used to and quite happy for a small engine cheap tax fuel ect, its the depreciation that's the bug bearer for me to

I have the exact car you have got figures on. Depreciation doesnt bother me. What bothers me more is how much the actual car cost to make.

I took a good few weeks to make my mind up but i am glad i got the car. If you get it for the price you want plus, no mot for 3 years, a years tax, cheap fuel, cheap insurance, lifetime warrenty then i personally think the pros outway the cons.

Lifetime warrenty can go onto the second owner aswell at a cost to them. Read it in a pamflet whilst i got a new window regulator, 4 days after picking my car up brand new! Trouble free since then.

Vaux are doing free 1st year insurance aswell for over 21's aren't they? I looked into one myself, but can't tie myself in for 5 years. I can't keep a car long enough

I'd want to be paying that over 3 years. Sounds like a terrible deal.

So you'd only want to pay £6120 for a brand new car with all of the above, thatd be great but in the real world that isn't going to happen, I don't know any car you can buy new for that price with all that's offered

Bought my old corsa brand new a few years back on a 3 year deal which is fine. Prices have gone up so much they've had to stretch it to 5 years just to remain sensible monthly payments.

Would only go for something special over such a long term!

My 1.2 SXi+ C was £9k over 3 years. £3k deposit, £160/month ish. Decent enough deal.

Shame Vaux (and all other manufacturers) are now trying to offload cars at massively over the top prices.

5 years of trouble free motoring for 170 quid a month isn't bad at all.

Its 0% finance so might as well keep your £2k in the bank and make 2-3% on it.

That's the other thing, I probably would be better to leave the deposit I'd put down in the bank as it is 0%

the trouble free aspect of it is nice to have. i like the fact that the other half has a nice new car and if anything goes wrong i just take it back to a ford garage and it gets fixed with no cost to myself (excluding wear and tear parts).

it's my 3rd new car and although you do pay jut for that privilege, it is ideal if you just want hassle free motoring and get to drive a new car around.

those ltd edition corsas look the part aswell. small engine, but these days everyone is downgrading. should hold it's value well, if petrol prices continue to rise.

Exactly ben!! Wouldn't want my mrs and kid knocking about in a R reg escort with the only security being a 100 piece halfords professional tool kit sat in the garage.

The Vaux 0% and 0 deposit deal at the moment is really hard to ignore.

If you want a brand new car, there's no cheaper way to do it. You've just got to accept that a brand new car is never a good investment, but to some people the numberplate, convenience and worry-free nature of it is worth more than a few grand in depreciation.
