My phone is due for upgrade in October, I've been looking at the galaxy S3 and looks decent.
Is there anything else out there as the market seems quite empty at the moment Just Galaxy S variants and iPhones

that is pretty much it tbh.
RIM is dying off, WP7 is good but not right and htc is plasticfantastic with relatively poor support (and theyve had to give back Beats as they couldnt afford to pay in the end)

WP8 is apparently set to release Q4, so it's likely there will be a range of new phones using it ie: the rumored Nokia Lumia 910; specs are extremely impressive although it is currently rumored to be WP7.5 and there's still the issue of WP7/7.5 being upgraded to WP8.
Range of Nexus phones to be coming out in the next few months, likely to be some of the best JB phones.
Huawei also have a few high-end models in the pipeline; could be good, could be crap, no one really knows but so far their bottom stuff is pretty impressive considering.
As russ said, it's all bit up in the air with BlackBerry's. OS10 has been delayed until next year and there isn't likely to be any new models out until then.
HTC One X/S is currently your best bet, pretty decent handsets, good build quality and will they're likely to get JB.
Best bet is to get search around Oct and see what's what.
