Alright all.

Just went past a white van with no markings and tints, it had 2 cameras pointing out the back.

Would they just be checking for taxed vehicles , or can they do you for speeding too?
There was no markings whatsoever on said can.

Do you remember what the camera's looked like ?

Could be ANPR, could be speeding. No legal requirement to announce what they are up to as far as I know.

There needs to be camera signs about but the van dont need to be sticker'd up iirc

Those are normally speeding ones.

Tax/MOT ones hide on bridges over carriageways I thought.

But the speeding vans we have around here are all marked up? I've never seen an ordinary can with cameras pointing out both windows? It's the extra long van too not

I've seen both and fitted ANPR to a few transits. As long as there is a speed camera sign within a certain distance from their site (can't remember exact, iirc its a mile), then they don't have to be marked up.

Although tbf thats the risk you take when you speed, you just have to accept that you were caught out this time.

I have a golf GT TDI which has a siezed turbo and is in limp mode and limited to 60mph

if it was the A47 they are ANPR and pull you into an estate to check over your car etc
