My runabout is mainly used for throwing shit in, and taking to the tip, use it over the van because you got to have a permit otherwise!
Anyway, it may not be as practical but couldn't believe how cheap this was, i remember looking at them ages ago in a thread on here.

I've heard a lot of horror stories with them though, are they really that shit?? Stories?? Experiences??

I'm aware they need 1L of oil a month, and they're shit on fuel....

if you get one with mazda history youll be fine
engine wise mainly there is alot of specific tools that mazda have and 90% of normal garages dont
seem to be a bitch to sell on though hence the low prices

Even if something expensive goes tits up at that price you can make a decent bit back from stripping it

My friend had one and it was great.

It did use some oil and the engine needs warming up before use and shit, but it never went wrong.

dont they inject oil into the motor? hence them needed oil topping up regularly. something i've heard somewhere

Ive read its a 1L approx every 3-4000 miles, which isnt 'that' excessive imo.

it isnt at all especially when New Audis can use it every 1500 miles

Guys at work had it in a number of times and Audi quote from 1500 miles onwards is normal and within limits

BMW are the same especially on petrols

Guy I play 5's with bought an 05 plate for £2500.

Suppose, got the guy down to £2k aswell It's too far to go and for it to be a heap of shit that sounds like its not running well.

His son works in a garage who specialise in rotary engines, so that sounds promising.

£96 to get there by train.

Correct me if im wrong but dont these have problems with short journeys?. As a runabout i dont know if going half a mile down to the shop and turning It off would cause problems. Mazda say your supposed to get the car upto full temp before turning it off, or revving to 3k rpm for 10 secs and turn it off whilst revving, but people have still had a flooded engine after doing that.

Depends if you want a car that when you want to go two minutes down the road youve got to sit at your destination whilst the car warms up.

I would personally avoid the RX8, - points seem to out weigh the + points by far.

I would be looking at some sort of diesel for £2500, Leon, Golf, Megane, 206 etc.

because its an added cost and fucking around, not everyone wants to check there oil before taking it out and shitting themselves if theyve forgotten
