Looking at buying a Mondeo ST220.

Have just done a HPi check on it and this came up:

Alert Details
Plate Transfer

The current plate was transferred to this vehicle on 05/05/2011
S50DNA was applied to this vehicle on 22/07/2010
This VRM has been recorded as being written-off
The insurance write-off was recorded on 24/03/2005 against a GILERA DNA GP
YX53AXT was applied to this vehicle on 10/01/2004
There are no interests recorded against YX53AXT

Plate transfer
Interest registered against a previous plate

Vehicle Condition

Condition alert
VRM and VIN not recorded by insurers as a 'total loss'

Condition inspected
VRM and VIN not recorded as a repaired insurance 'total loss

Im guessing it means that the car has had a previous private plate, but has been previously been written off. On the plate though and not the car?

Thanks

It sounds like its the plate that's got the bad info and not the car as the 2nd transfer came up clear.

Thats what I thought. Think Ian has mentioned this before about his plate?

Would be good to get a bit more info before I send a deposit over!

Assuming the GILERA DNA GP is a bike? So the plate was on that at the time?

I'm guessing it's the plate, and the S50 DNA, was a plate on the bike, S, don't know, the 50 meaning 50cc and DNA for the model. So maybe it was written off and the put the plate on the mondeo?

Good point!

He said it was HPi clear and seems genuine.

Waiting to see if it showed up on his HPi check and to see what he reckons.

Just done the DVLA MOT check and the plate was put on in 2010 and removed in 2011. No mention on previous plate so should be ok.
