Morning all,
just had a really good quote on my Astra which im about to sell (mrs is pregnant and need something more practical) after checkibg places like Autotrader/Ebay/forums the price they offered me was very competitive and would save me all the hassle of selling it privately.

So i have the viewing on Sunday, anyone had bad/good experiences of said websites or similar? Just wanna check everything out before i go ahead with anything and live to regret it.

Cheers guys
Matt

I had a corsa up for £5k, which people were ringing about etc.

Went to them with their offer of £4800, offered me £3800 after going round the car and pointing to shit like kerbed wheels and scrathced bumper, Sold it to them too, for some unknown reason

i asked for a quote when i wanted to know what the Nova is worth. they valued it at £50 and have a £25 "admin" charge so before they had inspected it had already cost me 50% of the quote just to process it!

My Uncle got a quote from them before selling his Range Rover. Market value was £4k, they first off offered £3500 and when they looked at it they offered £400. 90% rate apparently cause of 2" square of lacquer was flaking around rear quarter panel, and there was 'only' 7mm left in the tyres. Scam artists spring to mind!

Their sister company (as far as I know) webuyanybike.com are even fuckng worse!

They're car craft, so just clean them and put them on forecourt.

colonel_g on here used to work for them, they sell the cars off to auction.

obviously they are going to offer less because when people enter details on the site they always say good condition etc, would you turn up to buy a car without haggling? they will obviously knock off money for defects.

Just go around a few local indi dealers with a good rep, they should buy car from you and offer you a price just as good.

not true. i used to work for them and i would offer 99% less than your offer if i could get away with it. my bonus was based on how much percentage i could knock off of the original estimate and then extra bonus for the tax, which is included in the valuation, and then given to you to claim from dvla and then taken off the valuation, very crafty trick as you get the same money so you dont think anything of it, but obviously we have then paid even less.

horrible job to have if you have any morals so i left
