I've started a new job this week and due to the nature of my work it is strictly forbidden to take a camera phone into the premises So, I'm currently on the lookout for a Smartphone which has 3G capabilities along with Wifi (desirable but not essential) Does anyone know of anything available in the UK that would fit the bill? I havent really found anything, just a couple of old Nokias on a Symbian OS.

You can buy a non camera iPhone (maybe only asia though) or get front and back covers with no camera hole.

One of the older BlackBerry's?
Edit - A few on Ocean's link.
Edit 2 - Can also get replacement backs for some phones, like iPhone 4/4S, that remove the camera hole in the casing.

A lot of the old BlackBerry's won't have 3G.
Best bet would be to check with the other guys at work to see what they use.
I don't know if its possible to restrict a BlackBerry thats on a BlackBerry server to disable the camera app. Maybe that would satisfy the employers if its possible?

Can disable the camera under BES but would require Rob to run his own BES server.
Could try and get hold of the non-camera version of the Huawei U8860 as it's a decent spec'd Android (can run ICS) phone.

Some good options so far, thanks for the input guys.
I have a 4S at the moment but I dont want to remove the camera as I use it quite a lot outside of work. I just bought a Tablet recently and that also has a camera in so that wont be allowed in either
A couple of people have cheap Nokias while in the office and they seem to be ok but this would mean taking out a second contract for a second number
I also forgot that I will shortly have internet access on my office PC so I'm sure I can make do until then.

At my work they don't allow cameras or mobile phones, but no one gets searched. I have noticed in 5 months I've been there I have NEVER EVER seen anyone on their mobile unless they were management and had a company phone.
I find it better to have your mobile hidden away and on silent for the work day as you don't get distracted. If I want to make a personal phone call I'll generally do it out of the building.

We are encouraged to have a mobile phone as it makes life/people getting hold of you a lot more easier with my job because I am backwards and forwards between my desk and workshops/meetings all day.
Smart phone capability would be handy so I can pick up my emails while on the move and have an electronic form of calendar reminders in my hand etc.

You can get iphone 3gs VERY cheap now, i'd get one and have the camera removed. If it were me.
Quite gutted you're not allowed though, would have been nice to have an MMS with a "sneak peak" on hehe

Yeah we got a 3GS for my mother-in-law the other day, think it was £300 or something like that on PAYG from O2.

£300 for a 3gs Should have waited until the iPhone 5 was launched and it will probably drop.
