Just looking on autoplop & pistontrader at cars......as you do on a Sunday afternoon.
These merc's seem to be quite brisk, possibly fun under 20k second car potential.
Anyone ever drove one?
I think I prefer to a SL or CL etc
Better than a Boxster S?? Do they have a LSD as standard ? Tunning potential ?
Note :- This isnt a i'm going to buy [___________] thread before the dickhead brigade turns up. Just some light hearted discussion!!

See now that doesnt tickle me as much....just looks like another big engined merc barge. Great if you just enjoy accelerating in straight lines!! Too big. I like the idea of the SLK....tunned to about 500bhp

Yep.
Hired one for a long weekend a couple of years back for the mrs 30th birthday.
Best fun I've had in ages. Goes like a rocket ship and with roof down(which is a must all the tIme) the sound is just so addictive. The airscarf is also a brilliant.
Loved it so much it's on her list as a next car.

Absolutely mega car. More of a small GT car than a sports car.
I've wanted one for ages but always kept it to myself as slk have bit of a girly image

rather have the SL55 Colin
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-Benz-SL55-5-4-auto-AMG-/170902923941?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item27ca9baaa5#ht_1059wt_1393
never driven the SLK but have been in and driven the SL55 and the SL350 a few times.
lovely motors, very torquey, and great fun in the corners, even with the autobox. bit tail happy in the wet if you have a heavy foot. but on the flip side a great roofdown cruiser aswell.
