Won a Tech 2 on ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221121144627?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

These go for £700+ normaly

Even though i already have one, It was to cheap not to bid!

But then i got this email...

Hi there, thanks for wining the auction. I know i should not be doing this, but im going to be honest. This has just sold for a 160gbp loss, and i feel quite sick at this fact. I dont suppose you can sympthasize with me and cancel this transaction? I am terribly sorry about this situation. It should not have ended no where near this amount. I know this is not what you want to hear..the best possible thing i can right now is, offer it to you for 420gbp and you send the payment through paypal so i can save eBay fees, i will still be making a loss. but a sufferable one. Please let me know how you feel about this, i would really appreciate your understanding...
kind regards

What should I say? No i as you should of put a reserve ?

Its coming from abroad, dont want it to get lost, or get stung - as the risk is higher

Exactly. You won it fair and square, and he would be pissed if the winning bidder won it for 700 but decided not to pay

I would leave it imo! I could post reasons but I guess they would be same as yours for making this post.

Hi, I have had a think about this and if you did not wish to make such a big loss on the item then i believe you should have put a reserve on the item, i would be willing to pay the winning bid for the item but that is my final offer, otherwise i will be forced to report the sale to ebay and leave negative feedback?

no i mean he couldve just cancelled your bid, informed ebay you are a time waster etc. there is no contract that you have won it for that so will receive it. regardless of feedback, he still has the right not to sell you it.

Pretty sure there is. Ebay would be pointless without one

TBH for £160 loss you can leave all the shit feedback you want! Plus he can cancel it if he wanted/knew how stating item is no longer for sale/broke/lost etc.

The guy doesn't want to sell. So your not going to get it.

he can just stop the sale Warren, he probably doesnt know it though.

Dont do the payment out of ebay if hes not in the UK, could easily take the cash and do one.

Dont risk it.

if he is clever enough, he will report you as well. which just causes a lot of issues and hassles. personally, its not cost you any money, id just get over it and move on.
