Few people ride up to a Ducati dealership on a scooter, and even fewer expect to just walk out the front door with a Ducati 1199.

I mean for fuck sakes, they walked in, looked at the bikes, stopped & decided which one to take!

that employee is a hero.

wouldn't risk my life for it though, they could've had a weapon, but fair play he stopped the little cunts getting away with anything.

Surely showroom bikes dont have petrol or anything in them? they would have had to roll it all the way home.

Surprised they made such a half arsed attempt at holding him back, actually.

Of course they do. They're not drained after each test run.

I think there's hardly any petrol in them for that purpose, so they don't get nicked. But there is enough for a test run, then just top it up afterwards.

And anyways, there were no keys in the bike so I wonder what they were gonna do with it?

They test run the bikes straight out the show room? Always thought they had some reserves in the back for that.

They sure do. Most dealers don't want (can't afford) to have two of each model in the dealership.

There are exceptions of course, but I'd definitely expect bikes standing right at a door like these to be ready for test runs.

They'd have been pushing it no matter how much petrol was in it,
They don't sit there with the keys in.
Good on the public helping him out!

I'm sure there was a thread a while back about some "professional" bike thief explaining how easy any bike was to start without keys!?

Reliability of the source might be debatable, of course.

Also uncertain how professional these guys seem...

There was a thing in MCN a few weeks back about some new gadget that stops bike thieves taking them. All the new Panigales have been fitted with them as far as I know.

And I'd say if there were any 'professional' bike thieves watching that, there would have been a lot of going round!

at them with the bars and hammers. there's not a chance in hell they had the bollocks to follow through with them, they were just there to scare people.

It's nice to see somebody with such bravery. And for some bikes..

I hope that his boss at least gave him a raise or something. I saved my bosses zx7r from thugs once, found it nearby, wheeled it back to my old boss, his brother was questioning me, as if to insinuate that I had stolen it, wtf? Also never even got a thank you. That made me think why did I waste risking my driving license (poor driving) and health by confronting the yobs and taking it back? Would I rescue his bike again? No. But I'd do it for anybody else, because you expect to be thanked, at the least. But I think turks are rude in general tbh, my 2 cents.

Hehe. On my scooter, you unplug the ignition plug. And you have all electrics.
It's also very easy to reach the ignition plug, put your hand under the front fairing and it's done.

Fortunately (kind of), my bike no longer has a kick start and it's near impossible to start with electric start.

God that bike has been stolen 3 times from me and I still have it in my shed somehow. Although it looks worst than trash now, after being stolen & crashed.
