Makes sense otherwise you could just use the card in another gaff, it's part of the contract.

Just run a cheap extension to the other box so they can plug it in, soon as they leave, throw it away.. We never had any boxes plugged in.

In what regard? You mean the box stop working or something? They do send you lots of letters complaining and then I assume will cancel the multiroom subscription? TBH I wouldn't really know since I only pay £10 a month for every channel under the sun from a small chinese man, paying Sky is a mugs game

Yeah fine mate, you any good with PHP/SQL?

Brett - Ian is the man for that.

Well I have multiroom at home and I know for a fact that my the 2nd box downstairs isn't connected to any phone line - no letters in the post.

I didn't get letters for 3 years then started getting them.

50/50, just plug it in for a couple of days if you do get a letter.

Whittie can help you out, otherwise there's a 10+ page thread in geek day about it http://www.c20xe.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=607830

Openbox itself is £40-50 then around £10/month for EVERYTHING, HD, 3D, movies, sports, pay per view, the works.

ONLY downside is no EPG, just now and next but you can counter that with a more expensive box, but I'm a cheap cunt and use my phones EPG to plan ahead.

That's one of the downsides of a cheap box, a lot of people are using Dreambox clones, pretty expensive in comparison (soon make your money back over a Sky subscription) but so much better - there's a full EPG and shit loads of addons like streaming to smart phones / tablets / pc, etc.

i was decorating, had the second box switched off, not even plugged in, and the main box didnt have the phone line in.#

Got a letter, so plugged the main box in, didnt realise the wire was fucked.

Got more letters, they tested the line, said box wasnt plugged in, told them to sod off.

Then they started charging me for two subscriptions instead of multiroom.

So ran some extensions to both boxes and switched the second on, got a refund and half price hd for a year :/

How's the skybox F3 better if there's no EPG? Curious because I find the Openbox great, aside from the mentioned.

Yes, they double up as a PVR, though my TV has timeshift so I don't use it for the above, just comes in handy for recording late night box office stuff that I CBA staying up for.

I can get you setup if you want, up to you. There's boxes for sale on ebay though you're likely to get some snide clone so I'm told. I've also created the most boss channel list known to man that actually makes sense rather than channels being all over.

I'll take some pics tonight of the setup so you can see what it's all about first, I'll post them in here.
