Looks pretty good and (finally) significantly smaller than the original model.
Hope they decide to launch the white one in Europe this time.

Are the next gen of consoles not due next year anyway?

PS3 is bound to co-exist with next gen consoles, just like the PS2 did.

My original ps3 is still going strong... Sounds like a Hoover but still working!
Is there a new one out soon?

Ditto on that front. My big old white Hong Kong PS3 still works perfectly.
I do sincerely miss 802.11n support, though and for that reason could be persuaded to upgrade.
Kind of hope that the rarity of the white model will help get a decent price for it, should I choose to upgrade.

This one looks shit. Although they may just be bad pictures.
My original fat PS3 is also going strong but I was considering trading it in for a slim one. I will wait until this one comes out and make a decision.

There's no benefits of the current slim though, is there? Perhaps less noise?
It's virtually the same size and still only 802.11b/g.

Noise and aesthetics were the main ones.
And the fact that if you trade in the fat one, it will only cost about £50 to upgrade.

Still no fucking 802.11n in this new one!
Surely this can not be an expensive feature in this day and age?
Measurements are pretty good, though:
290 × 65 × 290 mm
