I'm going to be running 3 lengths of speaker wire under my carpet for the surround sound system 2 speakers and 1 sub. Question is I'm going around the edge of the room for obvious reasons, is it right to say the speaker wire could do with having a gap between each set piece to stop interference or is this some internet myth?

Fuck no's its just maplins heavy duty speaker wire seems a decent thinkness looks a lot better then the stuff they supply any surround sound with. But when the carpet goes down just wondered if ill get distortion if they end up being snug up against each other

I'd leave a small gap.

Though you shouldn't have any issues unless you are running it alongside power cables.

100% No need to leave a gap unless its running next to power cabling.
