What can I do if there is no way of opting out?

I keep getting text messages from a local nightclub, I don't even know how they got my number.

I thought by law they had to have an opt out option.

Have you replied with 'STOP' anyway just to see what happens?

Legally they have to give you the option to stop and identify themselves.

Well I know who it is, I have their name on the text message. There was just no details of how to opt out.

Can you not find a contact number online and give them a call, nicely say that legally they must give you the option to opt out on every text and if you dont get taken off they'll be reported to ofcom

If you text 'STOP' they know that the number is valid and in use so keep on sending shit.

I kept having something similar so added the number to my phones blacklist, the messages just get deleted and you never see/hear them. Android has is built in and on my iPhone I installed iblacklist.

I never respond for this reason. Always use a fake number for everything when I get asked but still get these texts, fuck knows how they get the number.

Probably other people using a "fake number" which just so happens to be yours?

Or messages are dirt cheap so they send a bulk out even if the number doesn't exist
