Currently in the house were paying £91 a month for the full package plus espn plus MUTV. The set up is a HD+ box downstairs and a normal sky+ box up the stairs thats about 5 years old. Is it out of the ordinary for sky wanting to charge £270 to knock the sky+ box up to a HD box? is there any way to haggle it for free?

JM if your paying that per month then they ought to give you the boxes.
Rung up and suggest that. I'm assuming you've been paying a lot for some time?

No need to threaten to leave when you first ring up, simply just ask "i cant afford to keep paying £x a month, what deals have you got for me?" (youll only get a decent deal with the "retentions" department as mentioned above.) if they don't offer a decent deal, ask to cancel and go through with it if they can't offer you a great deal, you get at least 7 days to change your mind (ask for the cut off of services date). If they don't ring you with a better deal before the cut off date then phone up and say you've changed your mind and want to keep services.

Get a better deal through retentions plus they'll have your history and be able to calculate how much money you're worth based off that, thus be able to give you a better discount
