Well my mint low mileage 1 owner Astra van (2001) has been in a garage I use getting a warning light sorted before It gets sold. Turns out it was a biometric sensor in the manifold which gets clogged up. Fair doos.

So he rings me and says the sensor isn't getting a switched live so he's getting the auto electrician next door to him to trace and fix the fault. Knowing I'm probably only going to get about £1300 for it I was reluctant to spend a lot but I couldn't sell a car with a fault.

Now they have had the van for 5 weeks!! Give him his due though he's cheap and very busy an as I've got the scooby now I just kind of forgot about it as the money is just going in the savings.

When I rang last week he promised it will be done soon and won't cost a lot to fix, plus the auto electrician might want to buy it and not charge me for his end of the work.

Just driving back from mum and dads after dads birthday meal and I see the van driving past me!!! Spun around and followed him to the next red light and got out and confronted him. He had all kinds of shit in the back! Pushbikes and biking gear, food shopping in the footwell and tools etc. He basically shit himself and tried to say he was out 'Testing' it on a Sunday he fessed up he used it today for a 40 mile trip.

The van isn't insured to be on the road hence why I'm angry. The actual fuckin cheek! I'm still shocked.

I followed him to his work, which was all locked up, and aimed to drive the van home but he apoligised and said he'd pay to get it all fixed and nearly started crying FFS. I just took pics of him driving it and unloading it and told him to explain to the garage owner what he'd done and to call me tomorrow.

Has this ever happend to anyone else???

My mum's cupra got MOT'd and they took it out. Caught them as we went to pick it up and it wasn't there.

Actually shaking a bit which is funny

If it wasn't for the fact he was so shit scared and knew he'd done wrong I would have been a lot angrier.

End of the day no damage done and will probably save me £200! I'll post a pick of the cunt taking his gear out the back in a sec.

I walked out of work once in a rage after something had happened to be greeted by the young spanner monkey from the garage opposite ragging my car up the hill. Was not impressed

In fairness it's not the garage owners fault it's the Auto Electrician. I've had loads of work done by the garage.

It's in Hoylake, on the same estate as discount VW Audi

Why even bother getting the old bill involved, just get your repair work done for free and maybe a little bonus on top.

Good man for not loosing it completely, he got caught red handed and it sounds like he was very sorry!

I'd go off my fuckin head especially if I waited 5 weeks for it to be fixed. Tell him it better be fixed tomorrow no excuses or your goin to the cops to tell them he was using it without permission. I bet it's fixed within the hour then. Hats off to you for not blowin your top tho lol.
