If you wear a suit to work every day, how many suits do you own?

Suits never seem to last me very long, the trousers go shiny and they end up looking shit.

Do I need to just buy better suits? Mine are from M&S and cost about £200 each so they aren't super cheap, but not that expensive either.

I buy own trousers and Get blazer as uniform from work.

Lasted me about 18 months as starting to go abit shiny on sleeves now.

Own plenty of trousers though..

Not sure I helps, but gives you an idea how long an average blazer lasts.

As long as you are not shopping in a clearance place you can normally just buy two pairs of trousers and one jacket. Its the trousers that take the hammering!

M&S are not that bad tbh. I hear good things about the Ted Baker 'Endurance' suits but tbh I don't wear a suit every day. Just smart trousers and smart shirt.

Four suits, dry clean only and iron inside out to stop them going shiney.

£200 is a fine price, I have a £100 ish burton suit that is great and had expensive ones that are shite.

Last about a year and get heavy use as I like wearing a suit.

IF I got an office job etc and was going to wear a suit everyday I would spend about a grand on suits/shirts/ties and shoes and make sure I can mix and match.

Nowt worse than being the office tramp

Oh and get a few nice fake watches and maybe some real ones so people think there all real

In the winter i tend to get a few nice v-neck jumpers (Lindeberg or RL or similar) and wear a shirt underneath

I don't actually have to wear suits very often, but I do anyway. I think I might just stop wearing them unless it's absolutely necessary, buy a couple of really nice ones and then just save them.

I need some jumpers for the winter actually. Going to look at Gant and maybe Banana Republic too.

The only time I wear suits to a workplace is when I've got an interview. Shirt and tie is soo outdated these days!

I have one suit, I remember my boss taking me to buy it about 7 years ago. It was from the house of fraiser, it came to nearly £400 in total and I nearly had a fit.

Its been used for funerals, weddings, job interviews and need-to-look-smart-for-a-client situations.

Its nothing special but has wore well, I own one pair of trousers too which I wear every day for work, they might get replaced at some point

I have four suits but for three of them i purchased extra trousers to extend the life of them.

If they are going shiney are you machine washing them? Make sure you use a dry cleaner ever time to help prevent.

Out of the four the best two are from Jeff Banks, they were around £200/£225 plus extra trousers but seem to be wearing better than the others (Racing Green - about £250 and Saville Row about £350 iirc)

Jesus wept, I am currently only running with two work suits that I have had since 2008.

They are still in really good condition, one still looks new.

One was £300 and the other £400 I think. Will probably replace them soon regardless but shocked that some of you only get a year out of them!

Not machine washing them - only ever having them dry cleaned.
