Am sure this will be a CS Specialist subject, i am clueless with wires.

Think i bought the wrong thing really, but will try and make it work and see what its like. Was meant to buy a light for working in the garage, thought i was getting something you stand on the floor and was about A4 paper sized.

I've ended up with some sort of 12v caravans security light

I was thinking i get two wires with clips and just clip them to the car battery, but the light has three wires?

Could it be wired to work off the mains 240v?

I thank this fantastic forum in advance, we really should start a new forum that isn't limited to corsa owners, like a forum for life Imagine that, the biggest most helpful forum in the world wide web

Should be able to join the yellow with the brown and connect to the mains.

Yellow should be to the switch

Surely if it's 12v you don't want to be wiring it to the mains unless it has a transformer of some kind built in?

Ian asked me to come back to get username changed, can't be done unless i'm active and the other option would shut board down for a few hours while he reconfigured the Scousetrix (bit like the matrix)

It's not 12v with those 3 wires, probably 240v with some terrible power supply inside.

I'd just get a £10 floodlight from somewhere local instead.

Just ask the owner of the garage to provide better lighting.
