Was driving home earlier and my battery light came on then got home and the lights went dim then the car died and won't start any ideas as to what it could be

drive belt come off? any of the above or other wires broken on alternator? battery terminals loose? alternator relay blown if it has one?

Something related to your alternator has failed so obviously your battery wasn't getting a charge and your lights have drained it down.

Possibilities are charging relay, check all connections and earths, belt may have snapped or worst case your alternator has packed in.

Cold may have finished off the battery if it's old.

I would say it was the alternator, failing that it'll be a dead battery.

Is this for the white corsa? Put the black corsas battery on (or one that you know works) and see if the alternator charges it or not.

Pretty sure it's the alternator as I put the booster pack on the battery and it started , I checked the battery before hand using a multimeter and it had 12v but wouldn't start :/ so I got it started and then took the booster pack off and checked the voltage in the battery and it dropped slowly so the alternator isn't charging it , think its new alternator time !

Like your alternator has gone mate this happened to me at pod last year not good had to jump it every time lol
