I am thinking i might buy my own equipment to do tracking myself.
Are things like this any good?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Trackace-Laser-Wheel-Alignment-Gauge-Tracker-Tracking-At-Home-/190746143087?pt=UK_Measuring_Tools_Levels&hash=item2c695b296f
Going to need some high ramps to do it imo, as can't reach under to adjust with car on the ground.

Why bother when a garage does it for £15-20 anyway.

iv considered doing something similar, its worthwhile if you are taking off or replacing your suspension/steering components a lot

Not so sure about the local garage anymore, i just been to lots of effort to replace the whole drivetrain and found a few bits not right along the way, i just feel if i want something done properly i really need to do it myself.
Plus i can experiment with settings. I've had tracking done about 5 times in a year before, so thats £100.

For toe, just use string or something solid and straight of a decent length

iv seen people use string before, but its a lot of faffing about and measuring etc to get it remotely accurate.
Lee installed permanent bars on the front of his nova so he could track up on site using string
