to be perfectly honest mate, i wouldnt bother. the networks will shit on you like theres no tomorrow. and as for nobody knowing. no chance of that

there is a sticker on the inside of your phone, it is programmed onto your phone(*#06# brings it up on screen) and every call you make the network can see what the imei number is of the phone that your calling from

not worth it at all

and this is correct about four year prison sentences

u can change it with eeprom. for educational purposes only with data cables tho....if the handset is stolen u cant change the imei to unbarr it...it will only work for a few hours

I seen this somewhere as I'm a huge fan of free txt's using smsc's (anyone else?) which is not illegal!

However IMEI number changing is illegal and personally I wouldn't recommend it. This website has a few options: http://www.katwas.com/downloads.htm notice the top one 'IMEI Generator' Im sure it will help if you want some background knowledge on it.

Another recommendation is http://www.thenokiazone.com this has just been re-vamped from it's old site loads of info on everything (nokia related) such as logos, backgrounds, graphics, tones etc which is worth checking out!
