I think the deterrent at the top level is that you might end up losing your star player for a game or more. The club can still fine internally. A lot of clubs do, and they tend to send the fine to charity.

Total side issue but they need to drop this shite about booking people for celebrations. I love it when our players come over to the fans, shouldn't get booked for that!
