Well finally sorted my new daily driver RB5 was just too bad on fuel so will be getting sold soon.
Offered the guy £3200 on EBay and drove to Wakefield today to pick it up.
It's a 2003 Mk1 Octavia VRS in black magic. Only 64K with FSH and a recent cambelt. Nearly new Goodyear Eagle F1's all round with a new alloy and matching new tyre as a spare.
Revo select+ remap with controller running approx 210/220 bhp.
Lowered on H&R springs.
Leon cupra splitter.
Magnex system.
Poly dogbone mount, can really feel this working.
Bluetooth stereo with hands free calls and music etc, fucking loving this.
Up to now I've realised it's bloody quick, easily on par with the RB5 although handling isn't exactly amazing. And it's brilliant on fuel, did 39 MPG sitting at 70 in 5th all the way home. Should crack 30 aroun town which is an improvment on the 19/20 I'm getting now
Gonna go to town on it indoors over Xmas with my DA and this lot
This is the new 'CityGo' rear badge which I'm putting on the back instead of the green jobbie, looks more modern IMO
Other plans are to take off the Revo stickers and gay green tape on the alloys. Pain Calipers silver or black.

I do still quite like these, especially in terms of VFM and the level of kit you get on them (plus the fact even a simple remap can liven them up nicely!) that said they are starting to look a little dated imho.
Like the rear badge mod

Yeah have to agree about them being dated esp. the from end. Saying that when driving it, it didn't feel old etc the inside is really subtle and the black and white is right up my street

Honestly Bonney I've driven loads of these and you can actually feel it working. It has a slightly harsh effect on the overall feel and ride quality but it's worth it.
Gonna get some ARB's soon methinks as it does wollow a tad at the back

I had one of the polybush mounts on my fabia and it was brilliant, like you said it's weird but you can really feel it working.
Car looks mint mate, these are really big cars in flesh aren't they! Still fairly comfy with 5 people in it

You generally only notice any extra vibration when the engine is cold and on tick over. Most non-car people would never notice a thing!

Yeah mate the boot is HUGE and does feel big to drive!
Bonney I've heard when there first fitted the steering wheel shakes more at standstill etc but this dies down. I went over unsettled ground with all 4 wheels bobbing and it felt like there was a steel girder running all the way through the car. Hard to describe but you get what I mean?

That looks great Rich, any other time I'd have that but not going to be playing too much with this for now.
Getting new front door and windows soon hence the cheaper car

looks like a great example. bodywork looks mark free (as you said).
i'm not too keen on the shape of these but they make a nice family barge.
has it got wheel spacers on the rear?

I went through all his old posts on Briskoda and it seems there's 20mm spacers all around. Good spotting fella

Looks like a good example, always liked these too and would be high up the list for something with power and space. I think the golf must have similar consumption to a scooby, I usually only see 20mpg tops in town, reached 30 (just) with the mrs driving it on a 120 mile journey at 60. Id only see 26-28.
As for the mount in a diesel, mine was bad for vibration but when altering my idle on vagcom it seemed to idle lower than others (ever so slightly) as soon as u touched the throttle and brought it off idle any vibration disappeared.

I know the ones I was looking at all had 100k+ on them. It's in amazing condition which I'm going to keep it in
Just measured the badge mate and it's 90mm. Not actually sure if its too big TBH without looking tomorrow but been told if you snap off the lugs you just bond it on.
