Huge argument on fcebook and I want to know if I'm right ad why lol
Everyone's saying it dosent matter it the bleed nipple is at the bottom but I'm sure I've read before that it has to be at the top, if yes then why and why can't it be at the bottom?

Won't bleed air out if nipple at the bottom. Has to be the correct way up.

as nick says air rises if its at the bottem it wont bleed very well

Why the fuk would that matter if the air is tight in a tube along with the liquid. Getting pushed theought the tube, up and down and round your car, until it finally comes out the nipple.

that makes no sence
air travels upwards... bleed nipple at the top... air goes to the bleed nipple and out of it when you bleed them
you dont want air in a brake system.. there hydraulic for a reason

So why would it matter if the nipple was at the bottom? as the air is only getting pushed out?

It wont get pushed out though. Hence why bleed nipples are always at the top. You'll get a pocket of air at the top otherwise, which wont get pushed out the bottom.
People that argue these matters really shouldn't be allowed to work on cars.

If you pump the brake with the nipple at the bottom, you'll just piss fluid out all over the floor and the air will be sat back laughing in the top of it's "chamber".
If the nipple is at the top, the air is the first thing to dribble out - so once you see fluid, you know you've nailed it all.
I've never bled brakes in my life, but it makes sense to me!

The chamber is large enough that the fluid and air can move around, thus the air being less dense than the fluid will tend towards the top.
What the guy said about the air being pushed around by the fluid would be the case in the pipes but not the caliper itself.
Also re the air coming out first prior to the liquid, not always, you generally find some of the fluid becomes aerated and you need to bleed that off as well because you can't wait for gravity to do its bit because of the layout of the pipes around the car.
