I could do a straight swap with my 2000 s2000. Is £67 quid for six months tax and to insure its going to be £1000 pounds less. He says its had a recent rebuild but has no proof.
I know these engines if not looked after go bang.
It seems to be quite expensive for its year but it has a few good modifications.

Looks nice, but then again so does your S2000...
Because of the fear of the unknown i'd be tempted to stick with what you have.
Why wouldn't he have proof of a recent engine rebuild? If a garage did it, i'm sure he could get a replacement receipt as proof.

It was the owner before him that done it himself. He's ment to be well known on the rx forums.
He said it starts first time hot or cold which would suggest good compression, and doesn't use lots of oil or water.
I've wanted one for a while but I know they are ticking time bombs and a rebuild is. 2k min.
Plus I can insure it for 700 where as the s2k is 2k

Even with a rebuild it's still a matter of when will it need another  , I would be trying to get in touch with the previous owner, he may have receipts or something for the parts?
I'd be sticking with the S2k, to much of a risk imo.

I'm in two minds. Cheaper tax a lot cheaper insurance abit faster, on the other hand the Honda is reliable a lot newer cheaper on fuel and just had a new roof and respray. But 210 pounds on insurance every month is getting on my titss

My heart would say go for the Rx7, it's pretty unique, Wankel engines sound awesome and like to be driven right up in the rev range.
My head would say it's a too much of a risk, I wouldn't personally be swapping a decent s2000 for an rx7, just because I would live most of the time in fear that it would go wrong, rather then just having fun with the thing.

Tells you in the ad its a sequential turbo.
So basically he is selling the car because people at work will be made redundant within the next 6 months but is willing to PX for an s2000, scooby or evo.
I would keep the s2000.

Get it, I used to love mine and never had any trouble with it, you just need to let them warm up on idle for a bit, and warm down. They are proper shit on fuel.
Also why do people never taken any proper pictures, just scene pictures from meets?

Not to Fussed about fuel the s2000 only gets high teens mpg.
Id be making a huge saving on the insurance to cover the cost of extra fuel anyways.
How comes no ones commented on the massive wing.

If only the engines were abit stronger. A lot of the owners clubs say their not as bad as everyone makes out, yet most have needed a rebuild before 50k miles that's saying something.
Such a shame as they are epic looking cars.

Without having proof of the rebuild (apart from his word), I'd stick with the s2000.
s2000 looks nicer (imo).

Well, it's a 20yr old car that's likely to go bang If you don't mind forking out for a rebuild at some point then go for it.
