Just go to The Perfume Shop, and pick a fancy bottle then ask for a tester?

That's what I do, unless I know the name of the perfume they have.

I got Soph 'Carolina Herrera - 212 VIP' last year which is really nice. Christina Aguilera one is good too, as is Calvin Klein Euphoria.

Best advice is to go and smell a few at your local Boots or whatever to gauge what you like, then go online and buy it for half the price.
