Since getting my corsa c20xe the speedo has been temperamental. Some times I'll be driving and it will work fine. But then I'll notice it has dropped back to zero, then it will pick up again do a dance sometimes the work again. It's really on and off and I looked to see if the cable was worn but then realised its not cable. So I'm guessing there's an electrician fault somewhere. Does anyone know where I need to be looking? Thanks

Am guessing the bit that sits in top the gearbox is at fault mate.

Look at gearbox from above, there's a transducer at the top back. 3 wires going into it

It sits where the cable would have been, the other problem which can happen is speedo ring and drive problems,i have seen gears just snap off on the speedo drives.

If you feel to the back of box it sits between the dif housing and where it bolts to the engine.the electrical sensor just screws on and the speedo drive is held in by a 10mm bolt normally.

You might not see it from underneath as its on top of the gearbox. Much easier to see it/change it from under the bonnet.
