Does anyone want to give me some idea on why you have one over the other? Im into the R32 at the mo for the looks, but lack mild tunning for alot of power like the GTi
Looking to spend 9-10k and either will sit on KW coilovers as a first and must mod lol

I'd say GTi for the tuning potential. My old 106 was quicker than an R32. Although the sound of an R32 is amazing.

I would drive both cars and see how it is, R32 is really nice to drive. Iv a mk4 though but im sure it wouldnt be that much of a difference in drive with the 2 engines.
Are you looking to tune whichever you get? I had great plans at first but its fine the way it is so havent bothered tweaking it yet

The R32 is a much better car than the gti.
It's the edition 30 you want to go for.
Both the ed30 and r32 come with the same toys. The only thing that's pants on the ed30 is the brakes which are 312mm compared with the 340mm on the r32.
Don't let the noise of the v6 fool you tho, its what drew me to it as well but the ed30 is the faster car. It's a lot cheaper to run as well as most R32s are in the dear tax bracket. If I done it again I'd have held out for the ed30.

R32 for noise. But Edition 30 DSG with a remap for performance. Go up to 300bhp for an extra £500

Nah not cheap but there string internals on them engines and you can buy it in kit form
We've got an older shape R32 at work and round our test track it was a good drive but just on motorway it lacked the legs really

It costs mega ££££ to get big bhp from the R32. The mk5 will top out at 155mph so its got the legs.

R32 all day for me, have always wanted one, even the old shape gets me hard - must be something to do with it being so cool when i was younger.
I personally love the boldness in the styling and the also like the stigma attached with the R32 badge

R32 sound lovely but are really really slow, very heavy, I'd go for a gti for sure
