Surely you'd rather keep the abs and power steering?
I've both on my GSi and kept the bay looking tidy, check my project thread.

want a wiretuk doing on it no powersteering on it now but everything still on it got a redtop in it at the minute but want turbo power lol

Have to re-pipe your brake lines. If you don't have pas connected just remove it all. Simple enough.
