Some may remember me saying on here in September about my best mate who was unfortunately killed as a passenger in a road accident.
http://www.thisiskent.co.uk/FAMILY-TRIBUTE-loving-DAD/story-16997640-detail/story.html
He was given a fighting chance by Kent Air Ambulance because of the quick journey to Hospital. Well as Garry was a keen bike rider mine and Garry's mate Danny, organised a charity bike ride which as you can see, quite a few attended

On Saturday the final amount was totalled together to a brilliant amount

£15,118.12. The last 4 figures are important as Garry's birthday is 18th December. It's the top privately organised donation they've ever received, so everyone did very well

That's a lot. What sort of thing does that get them?

Congrats and all that, but I'm sure you'd rather have your mate with you.

I think each callout costs £3000 so that was our aim to essentially raise money to pay for the trip, and as you can see we smashed that one

Thanks guys it was a combined effort of about 60 people with donations ranging from £2 to £1500 :-)

Another semi positive is that as a result loads of us have started biking regularly so made a few new friends

Well done!

I am shocked that the air ambulance isn't government funded like the main emergency services!
