As per project thread, found myself with a flat tyre tonight.

Upon inspection the tyre looks pretty knackared to be honest, not with tread - just got a few surface scuffs etc and I think I've found an old repair... so I probably wanted rid anyway.

What are the "rules" with tyres, I guess at least I should be replacing both fronts - but is it "dangerous" to leave my current part-worn rears on with a 4WD car?

Current tyres are Sport Contact 3's all around... I've got no complaints, but are there any other recommendations to switch over to?

They say you should change both on the same axle, but unsure if that rule applies to 4wd cars.

I only changed one and it's been fine so far. Will get the other side changed over for peace of mind though.

Aye won't be getting budgets. Been there/done that

I've had no issues with the current ones, Camskill got them for £270 inc delivery for two.

I know with Audi Quattro's it's very strongly recommended to have 4 tyres the same. I'm not sure if its the same for all 4WD's though, as long as they're the same on each axle then you should be fine.

I've always replaced mine in pairs with no issues, equal across the axles is more important than front/rear.

Uniroyal Rainsports are great for the money too.

Unisport Rainsport2's ordered.

Could get them for either £150 each delivered and fitted by Black Circles or I could get them for £110 each delivered from Camskill.

Went with Camskill, pretty sure the dodgy looking part worn place round the corner will do the fitting for cheaper than £80...

Mine are 18's.

225 will go, but I had 235's on previously - and if I wanted to drop a size on the fronts I need to match it on the rears, for the sake of the diff apparently.... for that reason I'm taking 235's again.
