Looking for a bit of advice , on feb 4th 2009 i got 6 points on my license which was a week before the 2 year probation , so my license was revoked. In the middle of doing my theory and test atm. Basically the question is do i need to tell insurance about the conviction even though its a new fresh license?
Heard mixed answers, what you think?

Unsure what i'd do. I'd maybe ask one insurance company and see if it effects anything before telling the cheapest one to base your decision on

Was more than 5 years ago you were convicted, so no, you shouldn't need to tell them anything.

But if someone gets a ban for a year or 2 years, the points are still there when they receive their license back aren't they? So I'd imagine its the same?

Because it was in the first two years it was revoked straight away so never got a conviction code. The points come off after 3 years (which it has been)
Was going to not tell them but its a 14k car ill be driving so not worth the hassle if i did bump it.

I would wait until you pass your test again. Conviction code will show up on your new licence.

Probably be an IN10 seeing as that's what you got done for.

It wasnt no insurance i got done for though so theres no code to go by, plus when its a first license the points come off after 3 years.

Think I will declare it tbh just to be on the safe side ,only for 1 year i need to take the hit. 1300quid lol

Quoted from that site at the top "If and when both the theory and practical driving tests are passed, a full licence will be reissued but the points will remain valid until their third anniversary".

I have a paper part of my license and theres no code or points on it, not even a single mention of revocation.

Normally I would just say risk it if it was a previous car something worth 1 or 2 k but will be driving the new corsa sri that we bought a year ago , bit more expensive if I happen to crash it , but even at that if I had to send them my license it would be clean. Fuck knows what to do.

Just be up front with them. Explain on the phone that your paper is clean but you had it revoked and it's up to them then

Ring a different company than you are actually going to use and ask them outright without mentioning your details. Id besure you ring an english based company though like adrian flux or something.
