Poor blackberry.
Anticipated launch sales of 1.7 million.
This has now been reduced to 300k.

Source 2
Further decreasing share value as well.

I like the phone a lot, I'd say it's more to do with timing, it's 2 years too late.

The problem is people are no longer buying just a phone. They are buying into a system and Blackberry have missed the boat. They just can't complete with the likes of Google Play / Apple App Store.
They have switched from the corporate world to try and get the consumer world but it was a wrong move IMO. Now they have near enough lost both businesses.

Blackberry are only still around because of corporate sales. As more and more companies move to iPhones, they will go down the pan.

If their apps weren't so wank and it had full android it would be a lot better for a start.

Aren't most of the apps in the store just android ports anyway?

I've been saying RIM are 1 service outage away from being out of business for ages.

If there is an outage then it'll be down to the networks as BIS has been removed (BBM is the only part of the network) which is a stupid, stupid idea by Blackberry.
I agree that they should have just concentrated on the business sector rather than consumers; it's what they did best (iOS/Android doesn't remotely touch Blackberry for enterprise use).

in all but name it exists. Another waste IMO of money. They will spend tens of millions on the rebrand from RIM to Blackberry

Exactly this.
They made excellent no nonsense business tools, without the nonsense. Looked great, did what they did perfectly, then HTML email came, and it all went downhill from there...

It was a terrible model as soon as you could connect directly to exchange from just about any mobile.

I love the hardware of my playbook, phones I've had have been okay - apart from my work 8520, but the software is wank. My playbook would be ace if there were any decent apps available.

It's too little too late. Most people have lost faith in RIM. I currently have a 9900 Bold, and don't get me wrong it's an awesome phone, great to type on, solid OS, messaging system works very nicely.
But the camera is shocking, it doesn't even have autofocus, there's the obvious lack of apps too. I think it's even worse with the lower model phones too.
I'm awaiting the Samsung S4 .
