Right then,
Fancied building another eg after my last b20 powered eg6, so went on the lookout for a half decent shell, found this marlin on gumtree local to me, went to have a look and a deal was done.

1.3 marlin, 70k miles,100% standard, bodywork not too bad, arches rust free but a patch on the paasenger door, front and rear bumpers cracked also but nothing major.
Now it was time for the important bit, power! Wasn't sure which way to go with it, considered the usual d and b swaps but i would never be happy with the power so i started searching for a decent H22!
Trawling ebay 1 night i came across a complete package, h22a2 engine, box, brand new boxed shafts, new mounts, new stage 2 clutch, eg6 interia loom, custom engine loom, everything i needed all for less than the cost of a s80 gearbox!
so after a long trip down to brighton in the eg3 i arrived back home with a bootfull of h22.

over the next week i sourced the other bits i needed for the swap, fuel tank, new fuel lines ect
all parts ready i began the conversion, old engine and box removed, dash out to fit the eg6 loom, old tank and lines replaced, cable shifter installed and the h22 dropped in.

Needed a set of clocks so after a bit of modding i got a set of dc2 clocks to fit

drove the car for a few weeks and all was well, apart from the p13 ecu looking for knock sensor and ELD, neither of which i had, the car was way under powered with the engine light on, so a p28 was fitted along wih a neptune base map, ALOT better! still needs final mapping but its currently making 209bhp with induction mods and exhaust manifold.

I noticed since being on the road the car was loosing a bit of water,no leaks found so i popped the head off and fitted a new head gasket just for peace of mind

also fitted a kaizen-speed manual tensioner

all back together, and now fitted with a dc2 radiator

next on the list was coilovers, ambers and a set of slipstreams
and this is how it sits now

Ive told you, you supply the EG, and i'll donate the H22.

@ midlandvauxhalls - Whats all needed for an H22 into EG swap?? Do you need a mix and match of shafts and custom mounts etc??

i used proper h22 swap shafts, but a mate is using b series shafts with no problems so far, as for mounts, theres loads available from differant companys,
its a pretty easy conversion, no harder no a xe conversion

started fitting parts today,
first off a set of h22a7 cams, and valve clearances set

then made a start on the itb's

just fuel system to finish off and few little bits and bobs then off for mapping

use a d or b series vtec loom, have to extend a couple of wires such as the alternator wiring and wire in a resistor box for injectors but its pretty simple

only done 2 runs on the dyno mate so hardly had any tuning yet, and exaust needs swapping to 3" on monday, should see 240bhp plus, which to be fair is a massive gain over the standard 187bhp, just by fitting a set of itb's and type r cams basically
