A friend of a friend has the above motor. She has now had the timing chain replaced twice so including the original it's 3. For some bizarre reason she hasn't been back to vauxhall and has had the work done at garages using none genuine parts. Is this the problem? Anyone know of any common faults?

Surely a warranty issue? Doesn't add up.

why didnt she take it back to vauxhall?? they have 60k mile 5year waranty. most comon problem is due to not having the oil changed regular enough. service book says 10k but thats far to long.

local garage WTF? Vauxhall prob won't touch it now if it has a non genuine part on it and they'll wonder who's done the work if they notice.

Depends on the brand, some of the 'aftermarket' ones are the oe brand.
